How to 100% Survey Planets in Starfield

Starfield offers many opportunities for you to fight enemies, befriend future companions, and explore the galaxy. As you fly around, land on a planet, and begin roaming around the area, you’ll notice plenty of plants, living creatures, and valuable mineral deposits you can scan to understand where you are. There is a lot of information to find here, and if you enjoy exploration in games, you can survey planets and gain EXP as a bonus. Starfield Planet Survey Guide – How to 100% Survey

Once you land on a planet to survey, press F on PC or LB on your Xbox controller to bring up the scanner. Using your scanner, you’ll find various plants, animals, and ores highlighted in blue, which you can scan to gain data. Scan all the planet’s fauna, flora, and resource types to complete your surveying. The objects will turn green afterward, indicating you’ve seen them before.

With the scanner open, you’ll see on the side of your screen how many unique flora, fauna, and resources you must scan to complete the survey. For resources, you only have to see them once to gain credit. However, flora and fauna require you to scan each type multiple times, gathering information about the resource type, biome, and genetics, among other details.

How to Find Fauna, Flora, and Resources in Starfield

If you need help finding your last fauna, flora, or mineral, head into your Starmap and press Show Resources. Here, you’ll see a display of the planet you’re on and the items you’ve found. Grey backgrounds indicate that you have yet to discover them.

Selecting points on the surface will also reveal which biome you’re in and the completion percentage. If you’re not 100% completed in that specific biome, continue exploring it until you find its remaining resources!
