There’s been a lot of interest in Diablo 2: Resurrected following its announcement at BlizzCon 2021.
The game is expected to release later this year, and if you’re interested in getting a feel for it early, you’ll be happy to hear there will be a number of technical alpha tests for players to partake in.
If you’re wondering how to sign yourself up to be a part of these technical alphas, we’ve got you covered with a quick little guide!
How to Register for Diablo 2: Resurrected Technical Alpha
The technical alpha tests for Diablo 2: Resurrected are happening right now, and those interested in participating can register on the website for Diablo 2.
To register successfully, you’ll first need to sign into your Blizzard account, then opt-in for the technical alpha.
You can also pre-purchase Diablo 2: Resurrected for $39.99 (USD) for the base version, though pre-purchasing won’t give you access to the technical alpha according to information on the site. In an article from PCGamesN, Diablo 2: Resurrected Lead Producer Chris Lena noted:
“We’re going to start with a single-player technical alpha, and then we’ll have a second technical alpha after that, which is kind of multiplayer and stress testing.”
With this information, one can infer that if you’re contacted about participating in a technical alpha for Diablo 2: Resurrected right after registering, you’ll be testing the single-player aspects of the game.
Expanded access to things like multiplayer will be coming as part of the second technical alpha later on ahead of the game’s official release.
As of right now, an official release date for Diablo 2: Resurrected has yet to be announced. We know the game will release sometime before December 2021. This is in contrast to Diablo IV which Blizzard has stated isn’t releasing in 2021.
Diablo 2: Resurrected will, Diablo IV will not. Stay tuned, as we’ll be sure to update you on the release date for Diablo 2: Resurrected as new information becomes available.
Until then, if you’re itching to try out Diablo 2: Resurrected, your best bet is to sign up for the technical alpha on the game’s website.
