How to Invite and Play with Friends

Before you go gallivanting off into the wilderness, you’re going to want to get your friends together, so you can all join up and make a posse. While that’s a completely different thing to worry about, you’ll need to all be in the same session before you can start sending out invites to join your posse.

To invite friends to your session, bring up the player menu by pressing Left on the D-Pad. This will bring up a list of options for you to choose from. Select Players and then you should be able to see a list of all the active players in your session. From here, press L1 or L2 (or LB or RB if you’re on Xbox One) to move through the different menus available.

Going through the menus of different players you should be able to break them up by category including Friends, Crew Members as well as Recent Players and Nearby Players in the session. Find your Friends in the Friends menu and then select the people you want to invite and choose Invite to Session. They can then accept the invite to automatically join your session in Free Roam.

Now that you’ve learned how to team up with your friends it’s time to dive in and start carving your path through the wild west.
