There may have been a difference of just over seven years between the release of Street Fighter 5 and Street Fighter 6, but that isn’t entirely indicative of how long Street Fighter 5 was supported with updates. The final DLC character for Street Fighter 5 was Luke, who released on November 29, 2021. This is five years and nine months after Street Fighter 5 was released, which is a very long time for the game to be supported.
But the patch that brought Luke wasn’t the final update of Street Fighter 5. “The Definitive Update,” Street Fighter 5’s final patch, was released on March 29, 2022, four months after Luke’s release—and just a year and slightly over two months before the release of Street Fighter 6.
