How Many Shrines are There in Tears of the Kingdom (TOTK)? – Answered

More!

There are tons of locations to explore within The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but it’s the shrines that make up many of the challenging puzzles and combat encounters for Link to complete. Many of us are completionists and will want to complete every shrine in the latest Zelda, and that will be tougher than you think.

Considering how massive the world really is, you won’t be surprised to learn that there are over 100 different shrines in Tears of the Kingdom, and that’s underselling it. To help you keep track of what you still need to be done, we’ll go over how many of these exist in the game and where they may be.

Tears of the Kingdom – The Total Number of Shrines

So far, the total number of shrines in Tears of the Kingdom is 152, and they can be found in two major areas on the map. Most of these small dungeons can be found on the ground map of Hyrule, which is the largest portion of the game. At least 120 different challenges will be waiting in this section of the game.

As for the Sky Islands on the top layer of the map, there are 32 unique shrines to discover and complete. These are harder to spot, and I have only found a few by accident. You don’t need to finish every single one as you move through the main story, and I certainly have been taking my time exploring the areas that I want to. Only the sky and the ground layers of Hyrule will have these puzzles and combat encounters though.

The depths part of the map, which is also the smallest, does not have any shrines for Link to encounter. That leaves the total amount of shrines at 152 in Tears of the Kingdom. Even if the depths are missing these, there are still tons to complete on your journey to find Zelda.
