When Will Alan Wake 2 Release on Other PC Storefronts?

For the record, neither Remedy Entertainment nor Epic Games have provided a specific date for when Alan Wake 2 will no longer be exclusive. The game is confirmed to be released only on the Epic Games Store when it comes to PC, but news of any other platforms is entirely silent. However, we do have one piece of Remedy history that could help us do some guesswork.

Remedy’s previous title, Control, was released exclusively to the Epic Games Store on August 27, 2019. Exactly one year later, Control was put onto Steam for everyone else. If Remedy chooses to follow suit, then Alan Wake 2 should be released on Steam on October 27, 2024. That’s purely speculative at this point, so don’t take that as fact.

Will Alan Wake 2 Get New Features When It Comes to Other Platforms?

As for what Alan Wake 2 may include at release, there’s a good chance the team will do an “Ultimate Edition” style upgrade like how they did with Control. Two post-launch expansions are confirmed for Alan Wake 2, so we’ll likely see those bundled. That all depends on when both expansions are released, though. While it’s very likely that one expansion will debut within the next year, it all depends on Remedy Entertainment if we’ll see another in that year. We’ll know more by October of 2024, most likely.

Alan Wake 2 is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 27, 2023. If you’re looking for more details prior to launch, check out our guide on if Alan Wake 2 is coming to Game Pass.
