For now, it seems like the Pokémon series has abandoned having a real time clock. Lots of aspects of Pokémon games are dependent on the time of day, so perhaps shortening the wait for daytime differences ended up being the more player-friendly move. Regardless of the reason, that’s how it is for both Pokémon Legends: Arceus and now Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. So it’s important to know how long the whole cycle is, for all kinds of reasons. Here’s what you need to know.
How Long is the Day and Night Cycle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Overall, the day and night cycle in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is 72 minutes. Within those 72 minutes are smaller windows noting more specific times of day. These are important for a few in-game features, such as different Pokémon spawning habits and some evolutions. Events like the Porto Marinada Auctions also refresh based on the in-game timer.

There are four phases of a day in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Morning time lasts for six minutes, which transitions into regular daytime for a half an hour. Then we get another six minute transitionary period for Evening. Finally, the next half an hour is considered Night time.
It should be noted that unlike the aforementioned Pokémon Legends: Arceus, there is no way to alter the time of day in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. If you need a specific time you just have to wait for it. That said, you still have to rely on real world time for things like Raids and Mass Outbreaks.
