Amazon is always leveraging its monolithic Twitch streaming platform to attract the gaming community, and that includes making deals with game publishers to get exclusive content. These generally come in the form of “Twitch drops,” in-game bonuses you get if your accounts are linked up and you watch streams of the game in question. And it comes at no surprise at all that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a part of that program. If you’re aboard the (literal) hype train for Season 5, you may want to invest a few hours in sponsored Twitch streams to earn a few new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Twitch drops.

How to Get the New Modern Warfare Twitch Drops

There are four new Twitch drops for Modern Warfare, and you’ll be able to get them from now until August 19, 2020. In order to get the full set, you’ll need to watch participating or “eligible” Modern Warfare streams for a total of four hours. If you do that you’ll get a sticker, a double XP token, an animated calling card, and a weapon charm. The full details on these items can be found below:

  • “Smoke Up” sticker – watch eligible streams for one hour
  • 1 hour double XP token – watch eligible streams for two hours
  • “Big Bang” animated calling card – watch eligible streams for three hours
  • “Blast Check” weapon charm – watch eligible streams for four hours

First of all you’ll need a Call of Duty account, which you likely already have at this point. You’re prompted to create one the first time you boot up Modern Warfare, as it’s your gateway into the game’s cross-play and other features. Next, you’ll need to link your Call of Duty account to your Twitch account, which you can do on the Call of Duty website in your profile configuration options. You may need to re-link, just to make sure the right permissions are established.

Finally, you’ll need to find eligible streams on Twitch itself. To find the right streams, you’ll need to search through the designated Modern Warfare category for active Modern Warfare or Warzone streams. Then you’ll need to keep an eye out for the “drops are enabled” designation to know it’s an “official” stream. Once you find one, just pop open the stream and rack up the number of hours you need.

Are you a regular Twitch viewer who is down to get those drop rewards? Or are you just going to pop a stream up in the background while you do something else? Let us know what you think of this stuff over at the Prima Games Facebook and Twitter channels!
