Dragon Ball FighterZ has been out for just over a month now, but with the recent release of the new music tracks and commentator DLC, players have been wondering how to change the commentator. This article covers how to change commentators in Dragon Ball FighterZ so you can get a unique experience when you watch replays. There are even a few commentators you can change to that aren’t part of the DLC, so let’s take a closer look!
How to Change Commentator
First and foremost, let’s clarify what changing the commentator does. You may have noticed that there is no commentator in normal matches outside of the occasional “counter” and similar callouts. If you change the commentator you won’t see much difference in normal matches. Where you’ll see a huge difference is in the replay channel feature.
Sandwiched between the World Match area (Cell Games Arena) and the Party Match area (Kami House) you’ll find the Replay Channel. Speak with the Replay Receptionist and pull up the desired replay channel. When you’re looking at the selection of replays you can watch, press Triangle (PS4) or Y (Xbox) to access commentary settings. From here you can select your commentator of choice, or opt to go with no commentary at all.
While the new DLC included a commentator voice pack, you have the commentator from the anime series by default. In addition, you can unlock other commentators, such as Vegeta, threw the in-game Shop. Unfortunately, extra commentators are fairly rare, so it may take quite a few capsules before you unlock your first new commentator.
Any unlocked or DLC commentators will appear in the commentary settings in the Replay Channel. Just remember that you must select your preferred commentator before you start watching a replay.
