Gears 5 Scavengers Locations Act 3 Guide: Side Mission Walkthrough

Once you’re into Act 3 of Gears 5 proper, you’ll be faced with the Scavengers side quest. The way to actually unlock is to basically do anything but gun straight for the game’s objectives when you’re exploring Vasgar. If you wander around the desert, you’ll trigger the side mission. Here’s our list of the different Gears 5 Scavengers locations and how to make quick work of them so you can get back to chainsawing enemies.

Gears 5 Scavengers Locations Act 3 – Artillery Battery

You’ll happen upon this particular site if you’re familiar with the location of the Cargo Shipwreck; it’s just across the way. Hang right once you’ve moved past the Train Bridge and it’s impossible to miss this. Head to the Juvie pod that you can see at the peak of the stairs, and extract the poor Nomad from inside.

Enemies will start spawning now, and your job here is easy should you choose to accept it: gun them down. Once you’ve cut a path through the Juvies, head inside the building to rescue more hapless Nomads and voila, you’re done with this location once you pick up the UIR LC Circuit C1.

Gears 5 Scavengers Locations Act 3 – City Ruins

This is one of the earliest locations that you’ll come across as you’re traversing the desert. If you keep to the right of the path, you’ll note that it actually ends up being quite close to the Harbor Docks as a frame of reference. Once you’ve found the City Ruins, you’ll also run across a bunch of Nomads that you can have a quick chat to before it’s time to deal with enemies in earnest.

Here, you’re going to have to make quick work of Swarm, Hunters, and Juvies. Once you’ve done this, you’ll be able to pick up the UIR LC Circuit A1 and head to the next place on the Gears 5 Scavengers Locations list.

Gears 5 Scavengers Locations Act 3 – Cargo Shipwreck

This is the last area for you to tick off if you’ve gone about our list in order. We don’t think the order particularly matters, but it can help if you’re wanting to just not have to worry about a path. Once you’ve passed the Train Bridge, which you’ll remember from having to locate the Artillery Battery, keep heading forward but make sure that you’re going due north. You’ll soon spot the Cargo Shipwreck.

Make your entrance, grand or otherwise, and you’ll find that you’ve hopped into an ambush of sorts. If you’re having trouble mowing down your foes, then we would recommend making a beeline for the Silverback suit in this level that you can equip: it’s in a cargo container. Once you’ve dealt with the Flocks, you can pick up the UIR LC Circuit B1. You should have all the components that you need now in order to upgrade Jack’s Detonator Implant.

Hopefully our guide has taken all the guesswork out of the Gears 5 Scavengers locations so that you can complete this Act 3 side mission with ease. If you need a hand with finding some of the collectibles that are also in the area, check out our Gears 5 Collectibles guide for Acts 3 and 4.
