Is There a Winter Royale for 2023?

Unfortunately, there is no Winter Royale scheduled for 2023 in Fortnite. Even though there’s been a tournament in prior years, Epic Games has yet to announce one. Rumors of a Winter Royale spread all around social media, but we cannot confirm the veracity of these claims. Some content creators such as Formula have created their own mini Winter Royale, but these aren’t official.

Money will paid out at various amounts for each of the regions that will have players competing in the event. Players competing on different platforms will also receive different amounts of money based on their placements. This means that the 1st place player in the Asia region for PC will get a different award than the first-place player on Mobile for the Oceania region.

Controversy Surrounding the Winter Royale

Unfortunately, there has been some backlash from the community regarding this distribution of funds for the competition regarding how the amount of money different regions and platforms get when they get the same placement. There has also been concerns regarding the sheer amount of players being able to compete has diluted the impressive prize pool to an amount that is not so enticing to the top tier of players.
