Final Fantasy 16: Where to Find the Griffin (FFXVI)

That pesky Griffon has been located.

As you progress in Final Fantasy 16, you’ll unlock access to new sidequests and hunts. Sometimes these two tasks intersect, and you’ll be tasked with hunting a specific creature to further a side activity. In the case of the Blacksmith Blues questline, you’ll need to hunt the Griffin Dozmare, but finding it can be tricky. Here’s where to find the Griffin in FFXVI.

The griffin for the Blacksmith Blues questline can be found just south of Norvent Valley in The Holy Empire of Sanbreque. Go to the Lostwing Obelisk and head due south. You’ll reach the Griffin, or in this game, the Dozmare, at the bottom of this section.

You can check out the map with the Griffin location below.

After starting the Blacksmith Blues questline in the Hideaway, you’ll be told you need to find a leatherworker who is hanging around a Griffin. After going to the hunt board, you’ll see the location is the Caer Norvent West gate in Sanbreque. However, there is no west gate on the map.

You’ll need to do some sleuthing to figure this one out, or you can use this guide!

You’ll find the Griffin perched atop the gate wall. Walk near the open field and the fight will begin.

The Griffin isn’t an easy fight, so make sure you’re stocked up on potions and tonics for the fight ahead of time. It has a mix of ranged attacks and up-close claw moves. So be prepared to dodge or parry based on your preference.
