Crafters and Gatherers are hard at work in Final Fantasy XIV’s newest patch 6.3 content update, with many new materials to collect and even more creations to synthesize from them. One of the more rare materials to gather up is Bayberry, described as a “small branch of wax myrtle clipped from a shrub in Labryinthos”. The description may already clue you in on its location, but there’s a bit more to finding these plants out in the wild. Continue reading to learn how to get Bayberry in Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.3.

The Bayberry material is only available through hidden, timed gathering nodes that spawn twice per Eorzean day in one specific location. In order to be able to locate and interact with these hidden nodes, you’ll need to first have read the appropriate Folklore Tome.
Bayberry nodes are unlocked by purchasing and reading the Tome of Botanical Folklore – Ilsabard and the Northern Empty. You can purchase the tome from the Splendors Vendor in Radz-at-Han for 16 Regional Folklore Trader’s Token C.
Once you’ve acquired and used the Tome of Botanical Folklore, travel to Labyrinthos around 4am or 4pm Eorzean Time and hang around the (X: 28, Y: 11) coordinates. You’ll need to be on your level 90 Botanist job to spot the node, and you should notice a glowing gathering node icon on your minimap if you’re there during either of the two time intervals.
These timed nodes only last for two hours Eorzean time, meaning you’ll only have between 4am to 6am / 4pm to 6pm Eorzean time to interact with it. A Perception level of at least 3600 is required to gather Bayberry from the node.
