So if you’ve come across an animal or creature that looks out of place, it might have been one of them. Here’s how to get the Ornery Karakul (black sheep) in FFXIV’s Island Sanctuary.

The thing about these rare spawns is that most of them are time-based, and you wouldn’t even know that if you hadn’t run into one. Also, these creatures tend to have unique properties that will help you in the long run. For instance, some animals might produce extra materials when you gather from them, so capturing as many of them as possible is good.

For the Ornery Karakul they will spawn pretty close to the entrance of The Wilds (pictured below). The coordinates for finding it are (X:19.6, Y:24.4).

Makeshift nets, which are the early nets you’ll have for the bulk of your time in the first handful of hours, have a meager chance of actually being able to capture these creatures. So you’ll either need to craft a ton of them or simply wait until you’re a high enough level to craft better nets.

You’ll find these critters vibing alongside the other lost lambs, just minding their own business. They spawn under the “Fair Skies” weather condition.
