FFXIV: How to Catch a Lemur in Island Sanctuary

Don't break a femur catching a Lemur.

Your personal Island Sanctuary is the newest craze in Final Fantasy XIV’s most recent 6.2 content patch, allowing players to gather, construct, cultivate, farm, and more to trade currencies for goodies. Capturing and tending to the island’s wildlife is a big aspect, and by taking care of your farm animals, you’ll be able to yield “Leavings” from them depending on their mood and happiness levels. Potential catches come in different sizes – from small, to medium, to large and, naturally, different rarities as well. Read on to learn how to get the Lemur in FFXIV Island Sanctuary, including location and available time to find them.

Capturing Animals in FFXIV Island Sanctuary

To capture an animal in your Island Sanctuary, you’ll first need to craft a means of restraint. Depending on the size of the animal, a specific size of restraint will need to be used accordingly. The Lemur is considered a Small animal, so you’ll be able to use the Makeshift Net that you’re taught to craft during the tutorial. As a reminder, you’ll need the following items to craft the net:

  • 1 Island Branch
  • 2 Island Vine

Go into Capture mode and select the Makeshift Net as your tool to begin your hunt.

The Lemur is a rare spawn and thus can only spawn during the hours of 6 AM to 9 AM Eorzean Time. Travel just east of the entrance to your Island Sanctuary to the (X: 20, Y: 26) coordinates during the time window and you’ll spot yourself the Lemur. Fortunately, weather does not affect the chance for the Lemur to spawn.

Use the Makeshift Net on the Lemur and, if successful, you’ll find your new friend frolicking in the pasture back at your base of operations! Make sure to keep the Lemur happy and well-fed, as they will drop Sanctuary Fur leavings for you once a day.
