A new tool.

Island Sanctuary has received some updates in patch 6.3. While not a significant update patch or everyone’s favorite island living simulator, you can still do a bit more around your island. Most notably, the new Iron Hatchet tool. Here’s how to get and craft the Iron hatchet in FFXIV Island Sanctuary.

To get the recipe for the Iron Hatchet, you’ll need to head back to your Island Sanctuary. Once you head back onto your Island Sanctuary, you’ll need to check in with the Felicitous Furball, who can be found at (X:12.6, Y:28.4). If you’ve reached Island Sanctuary rank 10 (which was the previous max rank), you’ll notice this character has an exclamation mark above them.

Talk to the Felicitous Furball to obtain the recipe for the Iron Hatchet. Now that you have the recipe, you’ll need to craft it.

So click the hammer icon on your Islekeep’s Index, and select the Iron Hatchet. You’ll need the following materials to craft it.

  • 3 Island Logs
  • 2 Island Iron Ore
  • 3 Iron Quartz

Once you have these items, you can make the Iron Hatchet, and now you’ll be able to harvest all of the new materials that patch 6.3 brought to your island. So be on the lookout, and go chop your trees. You can always check your resource log to see which new materials you’re missing.
