FFXIV: How to Get Soot Black Dye

Soot Black Dye can be obtained in a few different ways, but the most consistent way to get the dye is from the Ixali Vendor found in the North Shroud (X:24.9, Y:22.7).

However, if you want to purchase the dye from them, you’ll need first to complete some of the Tribal Quests to unlock the vendor’s inventory. Once you reach rank three with the Ixali, you’ll unlock the ability to purchase Soot Black Dye.

If you need some Soot Black Dye in a pinch, you can always purchase it from the Market Board. There is always a healthy supply of it from other players; you’ll pay a little more Gil for it than usual. Luckily, Soot Black Dye is incredibly rare so that the pricing won’t break the bank.
