FFXIV: Everything Announced for Patch 6.2 in the Live Letter From the Producer

Here is everything from the latest live letter from the producer in case you missed it.

This morning, the Live Letter from the Producer was given for the upcoming 6.2 patch in Final Fantasy XIV. Here’s a rundown of everything currently announced for patch 6.2.

Patch 6.18 will be on July 5

  • Datacenter travel, the addition of Meteor to the Japanese data center, and world redesitro
  • Addition of a new world to the European Data Center
  • Replacement of server equipment in European Data Center
  • Season 2 of Crystalline Conflict begins after 24-hour maintenance

Patch 6.2 Buried Memory

  • Coming in late August, no hard date yet 
  • New main scenario quests
  • New sidequests
  • Tataru’s Grand Endeavor continues (players must complete Shadow of Mhach quests series)
  • Patch 6.25 for more Hildibrand Adventures
  • New Weapon Enhancement Quests (Patch 6.25) 
    • Unlocked through Hildibrand quest
    • Manderville weapons
    • Quest-centric
  • New Tribal Quests (Patch 6.25)
  • The Omicrons for Disciples of the Land (gathering)
  • New Dungeon (The Fell Court of Troia) 
  • New Trials, names not given (extreme version coming)
  • New Raids Pandaemonium: Abyssos (new circles)
  • Savage coming one week after 6.2 release
  • There is the potential to move Savage back by a week going forward will be  based on player feedback from this test run
  • New Unreal Trial – Containment Bay S1T7

Job Adjustments

  • PvE adjustments
  • PvP Adjustments
  • Extensive adjustments to the Dragoon and Astrologian Jobs have been postponed 
  • Critical and Direct hit Adjustments ( Planning adjustments for instances in which buffs, debuffs, and attributes related to critical/direct hits do no result in expected benefits)

PvP updates

  • Series Two begins Patch 6.18, July 5.
  • Season 3 starts in 6.2
  • Rival Wings return 

Continued improvements to MSQ

  • Duty Support added for 
    • Snowcloak
    • The Keeper of the Lake
    • Sohm Al
    • The Aery
    • The Vault
  • Characters like Ysale and Estinien will join in.
  • The Steps of Faith is now a solo quest battle
  • Thornmarch getting a revamp. Development team found it too difficult for a first dungeon.

New Battle Content

  • Variant Dungeons (Patch 6.25)
  • Variable-difficulty dungeons, previously introduced as “Criterion Dungeons”
  • Level 90 casual play for 1-4 players (4-player party when matched)
  • No role restrictions, job changes permitted
  • Enemy strength is determined by party size
  • Route of progression branches based on player action

Variant Dungeon 1: The Sil’dihn Subterrane

  • Explore the depths alongside a certain someone. This character was not named.
  • It will require multiple playthroughs to see all of the stories since it branches based on player choice. 
  • Yoshi-P mentions there are a lot of good screenshot locations.
  • Not every patch will get one, but two are planned for 6.x

Another Path- Criterion Dungeons

  • Level 90 high-difficulty challenge for 4-player parties
  • Fixed roles, one tank, healer, and two DPS
  • Visually similar to Variant Dungeons
  • Dungeon 1: Another Sil’dihn Subterrane and Another Sil’dihn Subterrane (Savage)
  • “Another” dungeons are high-difficulty by default, with “Savage” being even harder.
  • Parties fewer than 4 will be matchmade
  • Normal methods of resurrection are prohibited, instead, each player is granted a number of revival actions.
  • Savage mode does not have matchmaking, no resurrection at all. Not even the new limited-use method.
  • All defeated enemies revive if your party wipes.
  • Enemies become stronger if not defeated within the time limit.

Island Sanctuary Patch 6.25

  • No gameplay shown, only information in written form.
  • Build your own personal island sanctuary
  • Enjoy new casual solo gameplay, gather materials, care for creatures, build facilities, craft items, and more.
  • No experience as a Disciple of the land or hand is required.
  • Every player will get their own island.
  • Islands are free, with no Gil requirement.
  • Gather materials from nature
  • Materials are island-specific and take up separate inventory space, no need to have an empty inventory before going in.
  • Craft your tools from your gathered materials. 
  • Tools will help harvest even more resources.
  • Grow and farm crops for your island. 
  • Plant different seeds that you will find around your island. These are not the same as estate crops.
  • Collect and care for various creatures.
  • You can even name them!
  • Some critters are rarer than others. Different coloring and unique creatures.
  • Build a base of operations.
  • You can customize its appearance and unlock new tools and other features.
  • You can let your minions roam free around the base. 
  • Create handicrafts
  • Assemble collected material into handicrafts and export them. 
  • You can try to align with market demand for higher prices.
  • Sold for island-specific currency, separate from Gil.
  • The gameplay is not affected by other actions in FFXIV.
  • Earnt rewards by accumulating currency and spending them on special items.
  • You can socialize with friends. Invite visitors to your island.
  • Considered “comfy and casual content.” by Yoshida.
  • You will be able to unlock flying at some point.
  • More details will be announced for Island Sanctuary in the second live letter from the producer at a later date.

Adventurer Plate and Portrait Updates

  • This system is coming out of beta and moving into full release in 6.2
  • Portrait functions will receive changes to portrait linking (redoing the system to make it less convoluted) 
  • All portraits created during the beta version will be lost when moving to the official release.
  • Adventurer plates will be edited within the plate itself now
  • Gear sets will be listed in the portrait interface. This allows for a portrait for each set.
  • Instant portraits will now show up in Doman Mahjong. Portraits coming to dungeons in a future patch.
  • New poses coming to portraits.
  • New decorative features added.
  • Copy/paste camera settings for portraits added.

Miscellaneous Updates

  • Allagan Tomestones of Causality added. 
  • New high item-level crafted gear added.
  • Ability to request repairs from other players (in/outside of duties)
  • Combo sequence display added to the action list (cleaner UI to display actions that combo)
  • Rare materials added to aetherial reductions performed by miners, botanists, and fishers.
  • Glamour dresser capacity expanded from 400 to 800
  • Adjustments to the order of certain Return to Ivalice quests (in accordance with this, quests “Makin Bacon (Bread)” and “Wok on By” will become unavailable) 

This is everything that was talked about in the Live Letter from the Producer for the upcoming 6.2 patch in Final fantasy FFXIV. There is still plenty to do in patch 6.1 like obtaining the Hippo Cart mount or unlocking the custom deliveries for Ameliance.
