FFXIV 6.2 Patch Notes: Island Sanctuary, New Raid, & More

The preliminary patch notes for the upcoming 6.2 patch in FFXIV have been revealed. It’s an incredibly beefy list, so we’ll review each section and highlight the essential parts. Here are the FFXIV 6.2 patch notes that include island sanctuary, the new Pandaemonium raid, and more.

Main Scenario Quests

Every major patch cycle brings along new main story quests. While the notes don’t give much information, we know how many quests will be included and where the first one begins.

  • In Search of Azdaja
    • Disciple of War or Magic level 90
    • Radz-at-Han (X:4.4 Y:9.8)
    • Varshahn
    • Players must first complete the main scenario quest “A Satrap’s Duty.”

After this one, there are eight more for players to enjoy. The details and locations are kept a secret until launch.

Chronicles of a New Era

New Pandaemonium quests have been added as well; this will further the story of the raid initially released as part of 6.0

  • An Unwelcome Visitor
    • Disciple of War or Magic level 90
    • Labyrinthos (X:8.6 Y:27.5)
    • Claudien
    • Players must first complete the Chronicles of a New Era quest “Who Wards the Warders?”

After this, five more quests will take you through the next four circles of the raid.

Tataru’s Grand Endeavor

Tataru’s Grand Endeavor side quests have returned and will be available after completing the new main scenario quests in 6.2; you can find the location of the first one below.

  • Soaring Profits
    • Disciple of War or Magic level 90
    • Old Sharlayan (X:11.8 Y:9.8)
    • Mehdjina
    • Players must first complete the quest “Small Business, Big Dreams,” and the Chronicles of a New Era quest “A Redbill Farewell.”

Adjustments to the Return to Ivalice Quests

  • The prerequisite quest for “In Bad Taste” has been changed to “My Power, My Pleasure, My Pain.”
  • The NPC offering the quest “In Bad Taste” has been changed.
  • The Chronicles of a New Era quests “Makin’ Bacon (Bread)” and “Wok on By” can no longer be accepted.

Treasure Hunt

  • Excitatron 600 Rewards have been adjusted
  • Kumbhiraskin Treasure Maps have been adjusted

Housing

  • Players may speak with the Housing Lottery Clerk in Empyreum (X:10.2 Y:10.2) to voluntarily return their deposit. The amount returned will be compensated with an exchange of an item.
  • New furnishing items have been added.
  • Sweet Pea Seeds have been added to flowerpots.
  • New aquarium fish

Island Sanctuary

Island Sanctuary is finally here, and a lot of work is needed to turn your island into a thriving community. The patch notes describe what players can expect from this newly added game mode.

Requirements

  • Seeking Sanctuary
  • Level 1
  • Old Sharlayan (X:11.9 Y:11.0)
  • Clueless Crier
  • Players must first complete the main scenario quest “Endwalker.”

Players can travel to their island by speaking to Baldin in Lower La Noscea (X: 24.9 Y: 34.8)

  • You do not need a Disciple of the Land or Hand to participate in island sanctuary.
  • Islekeep’s Index allows you to switch game modes, confirm information, and manage your island.
  • Check your sanctuary rank and available currencies.
  • As the development of your island sanctuary progresses, you will earn two types of currency─Seafarer’s Cowries and Islander’s Cowries. These are Cieldalaes-specific currencies to be used at shops that become available on your island.
  • The hideaway lets you build facilities, care for animals, and more.
  • It will increase as your increase your rank.
  • Plant and water seeds to grow crops.
  • Capture animals and let them live on your pasture. You can collect materials from them.
  • Release up to 40 minions on your island to let them roam free.
  • Island sanctuary activities such as crafting and gathering cannot be carried out when visiting another island.
  • As of Patch 6.2, players will not be able to hear orchestrion music when visiting another island. This will be made possible in a future update.

Duty Support

The Duty Support System has been added to the following dungeons.

  • Snowcloak
  • The Keeper of the Lake
  • Sohm AL
  • The Aery
  • The Vault

Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal)

  • Following the release of Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal), Ultima’s Bane (Unreal) is no longer accessible.
  • Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal) can only be accessed via the Raid Finder. Players must first complete Containment Bay S1T7 before challenging Containment Bay S1T7 (Unreal).

Requirements

  • Level Requirement Disciple of War or Magic level 90
  • Item Level Requirement Average item level 560 or above
  • Item Level Sync 565
  • Party Size Eight players
  • Time Limit 60 minutes

Pandaemonium Abyssos

  • Average item level of 585 or above
  • Eight players.
  • 90 minutes.

Item Exchange:

Head: Unsung Helm of Abyssos x2
Body: Unsung Armor of Abyssos x4
Hands: Unsung Gauntlet of Abyssos x2
Legs: Unsung Chausses of Abyssos x4
Feet: Unsung Greaves of Abyssos x2
Accessories: Unsung Ring of Abyssos

Players can earn the Unsung Blade of Abyssos once per week after clearing the eighth circle.

“Please be advised that Pandæmonium: Abyssos (Savage) will not be accessible until Tuesday, August 30 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) / 8:00 (GMT) / 18:00 (AEST).”
