All Announcements from FFXIV Japan Fan Fest 2024

The first big announcement was Pictomancer, the newest Caster job scheduled to be released with 7.0 alongside Viper. It uses a brush as a weapon while being a middle-term between pure damage and supportive capabilities with its ink magic. It’ll be available for all players at Level 80 or higher as soon as the expansion drops.

Dawntrail is set on Tural, a never-visited-before continent where the Scions of the Seventh Dawn are helping in the throne succession rituals. In this amazing land, players will be delighted with some of the new areas such as Tuliyollal, Solution Nine and Heritage Found.

Some of the new tribes were also showcased, such as a new breed of Mamool Ja exclusive to Tural. They’re very similar to the ones we’ve met in Eorzea, but with a few key cultural traits that make them unique compared to others.

A new Lifestyle-type content (similar to Island Sanctuary) will be introduced in Dawntrail. Named Cosmic Exploration, we’ll head to the stars instead of being locked into a personal island. And we’ll have co-op action this time!

As previously announced, we’re getting Echoes of Vana’diel, an FFXI collab, as our Alliance Raid series for 7.0. But now we have a new Shadow Lord artwork shared by the team this time. Shadow Lord was the main antagonist for the first Final Fantasy MMO title, so it’s more than fitting to see him making an appearance here.

The new 8-man raids were also revealed. Immediately nicknamed the GPU Raid by fans, The Arcadion will be our new raid series for Dawntrail, being once again a fully original FFXIV story with no influence from previous titles in the series.

An upcoming Ultimate Raid was also revealed: Futures Rewritten. Themed after the Eden raid series from Endwalker, high-end raiders can expect to see some old friends like Shiva, Oracle of Darkness and more once the new duty is available sometime during the 7.1 patch.

Another long-awaited announcement was the upcoming Beastmaster job. A new Limited Job just like Blue Mage, this was another popular fan request that has finally found its way into the game. More info about it should be revealed in the future as we don’t know anything about it for now aside from that it exists.

The next portion showed us a quick glimpse of the glow-ups all races will receive with the upcoming texture update. After witnessing those new faces, we also could experience first-hand the new two-dye system to be implemented in the next expansion.

We got confirmation for ongoing production for many gameplay modes we currently have, such as Deep Dungeons, Variant Dungeons and Blue Mage. A new Field Operation content (Eureka, Bozja) was also announced, so get ready for some farming.

The upcoming FFXIV x FFXVI collab will be happening soon, scheduled to be released in early April. No more info was immediately revealed, but we can expect to get some nice rewards similar to the ones in the FFXV collab, which gifts the Regalia mount.

And last but not least, we got a gameplay trailer for the Female Hrothgars. We’ll meet one in the next upcoming patch, but the new playable race also received its own trailer, finally putting an end to gender-locked races in the game.

Yeah, we’re in for a treat during 2024. With tons of new content to be released, Dawntrail is set to be another step in a good direction for the critically acclaimed MMO. The next expansion has no official release date just yet, but this should be announced soon.
