Does Street Fighter 6 Have Denuvo? – Answered

Piracy takes a Shoryuken in the face

Imagine a game where we can literally hit the Streets to Fight with random people. That’s Street Fighter 6 for you. Despite the name, it still took them 5 main titles (and tons of enhanced versions) until we could do it. Set to be another big game by Capcom this year, it’s important to know exactly what you’re getting with each version. And for PC gamers, this sometimes means getting some unexpected extras.

Of course, I’m talking about Denuvo. Is the popular anti-tempering system utilized by most companies these days also marking its presence in this new fighting game coming out this week?

Is There Denuvo In Street Fighter 6?

Despite not being initially announced, Street Fighter 6 does have Denuvo protection. This was already expected because let’s be real: no big games are released these days without Denuvo. But it was still strange that Capcom only informed about it a few days before the big release.

The info was added on Street Fighter 6’s Steam Page, confirming that Denuvo Anti-temper is included in the game.

If you’re feeling lost here, Denuvo is one of the most common anti-cheating protections available in today’s market. It doesn’t guarantee that your game cannot be cracked eventually, but it will probably not be happening in its first days, discouraging crackers and temperers alike.

The problem begins when people started to notice that games actually ran better on PCs after having Denuvo removed since it takes a tool on the game’s overall performance. Some companies will go as far as removing it completely sometime later after its release to improve the user’s experience.

This doesn’t mean that SF6 will definitely run poorly on your PC. Some games won’t suffer from it depending on PC optimization, so we can only hope that Capcom did their job well. They have certainly done with their new character creation system, that’s for sure.
