STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is a post-apocalyptic RPG inspired by the events in Chornobyl. The game includes many RPG elements, including a vast open world to explore. While most games like these are single-player as they are mainly story-driven, players still want to play games with their friends. It also does say STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will have a multiplayer mode on Steam’s store page, but why isn’t it available? Does STALKER 2 really have co-op? Let’s find out.
When Will STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl Release Co-op?
The developers, GSC Game World, have confirmed that a free multiplayer mode update will be available sometime after the official release of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. However, there is no timeline for the multiplayer mode update, as they are still focusing on all the bugs after the release. It’ll take some time to finish, but they have outlined their plans for the upcoming multiplayer mode.
They are going to add your typical PvP multiplayer features like team deathmatch. With how the game plays, players can expect a lot of changes to streamline the PvP mechanics, but it does make people wonder about the potential of the PvP modes as the game can introduce RPG mechanics to the PvP.
We have seen a rise in popularity in games like Escape from Tarkov and Arena Breakout: Infinite, which aren’t exactly pure PvP shooters but more extraction shooters. It’ll be interesting to see if they would even think of adding these types of game modes to Stalker 2.
Nevertheless, everyone will still have to wait for a multiplayer mode to be released. On the bright side, at least we know it will be a free update.
