There’s a new competitive multiplayer FPS that’s decided to throw its hat into the ring, and it’s Frontlines, available exclusively on Roblox. Playing like a cross between the upcoming xDefiant and classic Call of Duty, you’ll need fast fingers and even faster reflexes if you’re hoping to stay alive. However, you may be wondering if you’re going to be squaring up against players that have dumped countless hours into this title or if you’ll be playing against players with similar skill levels. Let’s find out of Frontlines has Skill Based Matchmaking, or if you’ll be up against any average Joe on the platform.
Does Frontlines Have Skill-Based Matchmaking On Roblox?
As confirmed in the Discord Server for Frontlines, there is currently no Skill-Based Matchmaking of any kind in the game. While this may be a bit scary to some of the newer players, don’t fret: you’ll be facing off against players on Mobile, PC, and Console, so you don’t have to worry too much.

You’ll occasionally get thrown into a server that has a fair number of highly skilled players, so you’ll need to adapt quickly and learn the ropes before you get eliminated far too many times. Within five different matches, I was paired up against Level 1 players that felt like they were in God Mode and players at Level 47 who felt like they were just playing the game for the first time. The skill ceiling is different for everyone, and due to the lack of a K/D Counter, you won’t need to worry about the stress of losing your precious ranks.
Do The Developers Plan On Adding SBMM In The Future?
As it currently stands, the developers of Frontlines seem to be occupied with thinking of ways to improve the game further. Between Prestige Ranks, new maps, and game modes, it seems that SBMM is the last thing on their minds at the moment. This is great for players that are hoping to get into the game and get some easy kills, but it may be unfortunate for those that are new to the game. Either way, as you continue playing and learning, you’ll soon be able to compete against some of the higher-ranked players. Here’s to hoping we can have Squads sometime shortly.

If you’re looking for a new FPS to jump into, don’t be afraid to download Roblox and give it a try. It’s an extremely impressive experience for the platform and offers a lot of enjoyment to those that haven’t been so keen on the newest iterations of AAA FPS games. While there are still some features missing, it’s definitely worth a look, even if you’re a seasoned FPS veteran.
