Does Dead By Daylight Have Voice Chat? – Answered

Can you hear the screams of your victims in this popular multiplayer title?

The world of multiplayer gaming is a warzone, especially when Voice Chat is brought into the mix. With games like BattleBit Remastered using proximity chat to make the battles more intense, does it have a place in an asymmetrical multiplayer game like Dead by Daylight? Having the ability to work together with your team could help survivors escape a hook while hearing them scream when you’ve downed them as the Killer could make the victory that much sweeter. Does this title have any sort of voice chat, or are you bound to face off against your worst nightmare in silence?

Is There Any Voice Chat In Dead By Daylight?

While you may love to hear someone cussing you out after out-looping them, there are no voice chat options available for Dead by Daylight. There are a variety of different reasons for this to be implemented, there are at least a few options I can think of that could sour the experience for other players.

Unfortunately, as with any online game, toxic players could ruin the fun. Sure, you may be able to get a giggle out of a survivor cussing you out the first few times, but it would likely get old after a while. You may also need to worry for your safety as a survivor if someone was using voice chat, as they could easily rat your location out to save their skin. I already know I would focus on them and work on eliminating them first for trying to play dirty, to be quite honest.

You could also be dealing with a toxic killer if proximity chat was a thing, so to avoid anyone having to deal with nasty players, there is no option for voice chat at all. However, if you’re playing with friends, you could easily set up a call in Discord or another platform to give each other the help you may need.

Does Dead By Daylight Have Any Chat At All?

Depends on the platform that you’re playing on. If you’re on PC, you’ll have the ability to converse with other PC players in the small chat box that appears before and after a match has completed. You can also send Kudos to another player at the end of a round, or report them for being a bad player, trolling, etc. On console, you will not have the ability to add a comment, but PC players can add a few complimentary details, or explain why they are reporting this player.

While I’m still a very new DBD player, I haven’t run into much toxicity in the chat, and I expect that could change as I start facing off against higher-level killers and survivors. It’s been very pleasant up to this point, I don’t think voice chat would have the same effect overall, as some players can get a little heated during these types of games.
