Do You Have to Buy Overwatch 2?

To not split the franchise’s player base up with the release of the series’ first sequel, Blizzard Entertainment revealed that all of the cosmetics and progress a player has earned would transfer over to the new game. Also, all of the new player versus player (PvP) content that will be added to the sequel will be added to the first title.

With this in mind, someone who is only interested in playing the PvP portion of the new game will be able to do so without purchasing it. Unfortunately, those who do not buy Overwatch 2 will be unable to experience all of the new player versus environment (PvE) content that is going to be a significant portion of the sequel’s array of content.

Those interested in the PvE aspect of the title should buy the highly anticipated game. Players who are only wanting to play the new title’s PvP content will not need to buy the sequel to enjoy all of the new things the franchise’s multiplayer section will be updated with in the future.

Ultimately, the decision is yours and should be based on what kind of experience you are looking for when you boot up Blizzard’s popular first-person shooter. One thing is for sure, though. You will only be left behind in the PvE department if you do not buy Overwatch 2. Your PvP experience will keep on moving like a well-oiled machine.
