What Are the Differences Between EA Sports FC and UFL? – Answered

Strikerz Inc. has come out strong with what to expect from their still-to-be-released game UFL that will rival the golden boys EA Sports FC.

There is a new sports game on the way called UFL. It’s here to rival and challenge EA Sports FC (previously dubbed FIFA) for the number one spot they’ve hogged for nearly three decades in the football gaming industry.

Strikerz Inc. has come out strong with what to expect from their still-to-be-released game, Ultimate Football League. One would have thought a World Cup year to be the ideal time for Strikerz Inc. to release the game, but they are on a mission to perfect the game from the offset, leaving no stone unturned, no crack left unsealed, and no glitches visible.

While preparing for its initial launch in 2023, Electronic Arts also underwent some groundbreaking changes this year. For the first time since the game’s inception, EA and FIFA will no longer collaborate, and the title will change for the first time in 30 years. Starting in 2023, it will switch from the traditional EA Sports FIFA game title and be identified as EA Sports FC.

How Does UFL Differ From EA Sports FC?

Below are the answers to this long-standing question. I’ll be starting with Ultimate Football League

Starting With the Game That’s Unreleased: UFL

It is a football simulation game meant to revolutionize football gaming and will be free to play. To find out what UFL is about, read: What Is UFL? New Soccer Game Explained.

The developers have been up-front about it being free-to-play and that there will be no annual fees nor will there be any extra costs for additional updates later. This will be the crucial factor that keeps them competitive with EA, as EA leads the way in many ways. UFL will still need to gain traction and followers, while EA Sports FC will already have loyal supporters, despite the name change.

EA Sports FC?

While UFL believes they’re bringing the heat with a game transformation, EA Sports announced some new and improved features for when they change titles. Where EA remains supreme are the many license deals that they’ve managed to hold onto despite the breakup between the developers and football’s governing body, FIFA.

They have over 19,000 players, over 700 teams, 100 stadiums, and partnerships with four of Europe’s top-five leagues and the MLS. They have also managed to maintain their affiliation with UEFA, CONMEBOL, and Nike, boasting 300-plus licenses across the sports.

Will Both Games Be Free to Play?

There was a rumor that FIFA 23 would be free, but that rumor was later squashed by EA before its release back in September 2022. Will the new release starting in 2023 be free? As of now, the answer is no.

Electronic Arts have not discussed it yet. It will have to be a market they must consider tapping into if they are to stay competitive with the newcomer and their closest rival, eFootball, which is also free to play across multiple platforms. UFL will be free to play and remain that way throughout its existence.
