There are plenty of items to unlock in the Battle Pass that add even more fashion choices for your Diablo 4 character, but it’s the Smoldering Ashes that really make a difference in Season 1. You definitely don’t want to skip these because they offer strong bonuses, and I’ll cover how you can use them in this guide. Here’s how to use Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4.

How to Use Smoldering Ashes in Diablo 4

You can use Smoldering Ashes by unlocking them in the Battle Pass and then adding them to the Season Blessings. The first set of Smoldering Ashes are unlocked at tier 8 in the Battle Pass, but you won’t be able to use them for a while. Your character must be at least level 40 to even use the first Ash given as a reward.

Once you reach level 40 with any Seasonal character, you can start using the Smoldering Ashes. Just open up the Season menu with the Battle Pass again, and then go to the Season Blessings located just below the Journey tab. Make sure that you have claimed the Ashes in the Battle Pass before heading here.

In the Season Blessings menu, you can choose to increase the potency of five different bonuses. Some increase the amount of gold you earn while others increase XP earned from monster kills. I would highly recommend using your Smoldering Ashes on the XP boost or the Urn of Malignance before anything else.

With a character at level 40 in Diablo 4 Season 1, you will only have one Smoldering Ash. The second one is unlocked at level 53 and the list keeps going. Ashes can be earned all the way up to level 100, so you better get grinding on those Malignant Tunnels.
