Diablo 4 Damage Calculators Explained

Do you ever feel like you don’t do enough damage in Diablo 4? You may look at your gear and wonder if there’s any way to improve it. In other cases, you may want to experiment with some builds or completely revamp your current one to maximize its damage potential. I’ve had all three of these thoughts throughout my playthroughs, and to this day, I still do sometimes.

How to Optimize Your Build Using Diablo 4 Damage Calculators

The Diablo 4 calculator I’ll be looking at today is the D4UT damage calculator that calculates your weapon, passive and additive damage, alongside bonuses from critical strikes, to determine your average and critical damage. You get these stats from your character stats screen, Aspects, and equipped gear. You can also toggle different options to exclude them from the calculation if you’re testing specific damage types or feel it’ll skew the result too much.

There are seven main categories where you’ll find these options:

• Average Weapon Damage
• Skill Scaling
• Main Attribute
• Vulnerable Damage
• Aspect and Passive % Damage
• Additive Damage
• Critical Strike

By choosing your class and inserting your damage values into their respective boxes, the page automatically calculates your multipliers, from your main stats to vulnerable and Aspect bonuses, to give you your character’s maximum damage potential. It calculates everything in real-time, so you can continuously change each value to get more accurate results right away.

The calculator also changes depending on which class you use, allowing you to check out character-specific bonuses like Druid’s Werewolf damage and Necromancer’s Blood Orb buffs, among others. Anything you can think of, you’ll see here.

With all this information in mind, you can test various builds focusing on stats like vulnerable, critical strike, or elemental damage to see which inflicts the most damage based on your main stats. You can also see if it’s worth sacrificing a bit of your main attribute to gain more damage elsewhere or vice versa. That way, you don’t have to run into battle and crunch all the numbers yourself!
