Detective Pikachu Returns: How to Find the Soft and Fluffy Pokemon (Quiz Professor)

Adorable.

As you explore the Southern Ruins during The Fabled Aurora case in Detective Pikachu Returns, you’ll come across the Quiz Professor and her Toucannon. She will have three more questions for you, the third and final of which asks you to hunt down a Pokemon that is “soft and fluffy all over.” Here’s how to find it in Detective Pikachu 2.

“What Pokemon is Soft and Fluffy All Over?” Answer in Detective Pikachu 2

There are so many fluffy Pokemon in the National Pokedex, such as Mareep, Whimsicott, and Altaria. None of those are the answer, though. In fact, it’s Gen 8 Grass-type Pokemon Eldegoss.

Simply knowing the answer is not enough to satisfy the Quiz Professor – you must actually find the Pokemon in the Southern Ruins before she’ll give you the win and wrap up her Local Concern quiz.

Where to Find Eldegoss in Detective Pikachu Returns

To find Eldegoss, walk left of the Quiz Professor’s location until you reach the archway and the dirt hill that leads up to the ruins. Don’t go up it, though. Instead, carry on walking left.

You’ll spot the Eldegoss floating in the air, just left of a tree with no Berries on. Speak to it, where Tim will comment that “Eldegoss has got to be the answer to the quiz professor’s question.” Return to the Quiz Professor and tell her the answer to finish her quiz.

Do You Get a Reward for Answering Every Quiz Professor Question?

Sadly, no, you don’t get a reward for answering the Quiz Professor’s three questions correctly. Unless you count satisfaction as a reward, anyway. I personally went out of my way to finish it, knowing I wouldn’t be rewarded because I’m one of those weirdos who has to complete everything 100% because it would bug the heck out of me otherwise.

If you missed the Quiz Professor in the Southern Ruins and want to go back, you can use Detective Pikachu Returns’ Story Jump Mode.
