Destiny 2 “Midnight Coup” God Roll For PvE & PvP

An old Hand Cannon, with new perks...

Bungie gifted players with the return of a classic Hand Cannon this week – Midnight Coup. Originally a reward from the Leviathan Raid, many players who weren’t actively playing Destiny 2 during that time may have missed out on the chance to obtain this weapon. However, now it’s easier than ever to get. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get the god roll Midnight Coup in Destiny 2.

How To Get Midnight Coup in Destiny 2

As with most of the reprised weapons in the BRAVE Arsenal, Midnight Coup may not be as revered as it once was, but this doesn’t make it useless by any means. With the right perk selection, this can be a strong weapon in both PvE and PvP.

Similar to the other BRAVE Arsenal Weapons, the process of acquiring Midnight Coup is the same. Simply follow a series of quest steps provided to you by Arcite in the Hall of Champions, then start farming…it’s that easy.

Here’s how to get Midnight Coup in Destiny 2:

  • Complete Arcite’s BRAVE Weapon Quest (specifically related to Midnight Coup).
  • Attune the weapon in the Hall of Champions.
  • Start farming Onslaught activities where you’ll find your rewards in the chests at the end.

Upon the completion of Arcite’s Midnight Coup weapon quest, you will receive a “Shiny” Midnight Coup with a set of curated perks that are fixed for all players. However, once the weapon has been attuned, the drop rate will increase by 50% across all Onslaught activities, allowing you to farm rolls more quickly.

Midnight Coup PvP God Roll Destiny 2

Midnight Coup’s unique feel can make it a desired pick for many PvP veterans. Even though the 140 Hand Cannon meta is quite contested with weapons like Rose dominating, there is still potential for Midnight Coup to be a high contender.

Here’s our pick for the best PvP Midnight Coup Roll:

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Explosive Payload/Moving Target
  • Perk 2: Opening Shot
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Mod: Quick Access Sling/Targeting Adjuster

This roll is heavily focused on accuracy, while simultaneously causing massive flinch to enemies. Explosive Payload disrupts enemies’ aim due to the flinch that is caused, while Opening Shot makes it so that your first shot fired is even more likely to hit. Adding a Range masterwork helps in those long-range fights against Pulse Rifles and 120 Hand Cannons.

Midnight Coup PvE God Roll Destiny 2

In PvE, there are some interesting roll combinations that you can get for Midnight Coup. Here’s our pick for the best one:

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk 1: Firefly
  • Perk 2: Desperate Measures
  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

This roll allows you to inflict big damage numbers due to Desperate Measures, while Firefly causes explosions…and everyone loves explosions in Destiny 2. The weapon also rolls with Kinetic Tremors which is more than a good replacement for one of the perks on our list. So in PvE, you have a lot more options to play around with.
