All of us are currently trying to make the most of our teams in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but with the Isle of Armor DLC on the horizon, what better time to actually get cracking on completing that Pokedex and filling in any bare spots? If you’re missing some adorable baby Pokemon, then we reckon you’re not alone. Here is our Cleffa Pokemon Sword and Shield guide to help you get your hands on one of these cuties.
Cleffa Pokemon Sword and Shield Guide
So, you want a Cleffa. We don’t blame you, honestly. Those little suckers are adorable as hell, and not because they look like tiny pink Milk Duds with faces. Unfortunately, as these are baby Pokemon, you’re unlikely to find them traipsing about in the wild – it’s just not safe. With a lot of these smaller evolution forms, you’re going to have to get them the old-fashioned way: breeding.
To breed yourself a Cleffa, you’re either going to want two Clefairies or two Clefables. This part definitely isn’t rocket science, but if you have a Ditto on hand and only one of the Clefairy / Clefable pair that you need, you can chuck that pile of goop into the equation and things will work out just fine. If you don’t yet own a Clefairy, you can catch one in Giant’s Cap or by the Motostoke Riverbank.
Once you’ve got two of a kind, or one of a kind plus your erstwhile Ditto, then bundle them up and take them to one of the two Pokemon Nurseries in Pokemon Sword and Shield – there’s one on Route 5 and also one kicking around Bridge Field in the Wild Area. It won’t matter which nursery you drop your Pokemon off at because either way, you’re going to get an egg out of it. Head back to the attendant after pedaling around to kill enough time for them to notify you that one of your pair has a bun in the oven, and pick up the Egg from her. Voila! A new Cleffa.
Now that you know how to get Cleffa in Pokemon Sword and Shield, go forth and find the perfect breeding pair of Clefairies or Clefables. Need a hand with anything else in the Galar region? Check out these other guides that we’ve prepared:
