Music Is a Huge Part of Tchia’s Gameplay
Music is a big part of Tchia’s theme, and your cute ukulele is used for more than just playing a wholesome melody. When Tchia plays a few strings on the ukulele, it changes the time of day and has other magical specialities. This is called: “Soul-Melodies”.
Soul-Melodies are “powerful mystical tunes” that, when played, will affect the world around you. It’s an ability you’ll unlock early on in the game after you complete a rock-balancing activity and once you’ve received the ukulele as a gift from Tre. These Soul-Melodies will be a helpful tool you’ll need and use throughout the game.
Its addition to the game is subtle but a genius stroke by the dev team to make the ukulele such a powerful instrument. So if you’d like to find out how to use the Soul-Melodies to change the time of day, keep reading…

How to Change the Time of Day in Tchia With Soul-Melodies?
You play four strings for each time of day. Once you’ve completed playing the four-string melody, the screen will fade to black, and the time of day will change instantly.
Firstly, to start jamming on your ukulele and change to “Soul-Melody Mode,” you must take it out by pressing “right” on the controller’s directional pad (to put it away again, just press “down” on the directional pad).
The notes, distinguished by color and a letter of the alphabet, will appear in the top right-hand corner of the screen. At the bottom of the screen, you’ll find all the tunes to play for a specific time of day.
The Different Sequences to Change the Time of Day
Change to Dawn:
- Yellow C,
- Cyan A,
- Purple F,
- Red E.
Benefits of changing to dawn: If you’re playing during the daytime, it’s hard to sometimes see what’s going on in the game at night. So if there’s a glare on your TV screen or monitor, you can quickly change to daylight and see everything you are doing clearly.
String to Play to Change to Noon:
- Orange D,
- Cyan A,
- Red E,
- Red E.
The benefits of changing to noon are the same as when you switch to dawn and could be the best time of day to do everything in the game.
String to Play to Change to Dusk:
- Cyan A,
- Navy Blue G,
- Red E,
- Orange D.
The benefit of the dusk time of day, is the ocean’s breathtaking scenery, the mountain’s panoramic view, and the color of the sunset.
String to Play to Change to Midnight:
- Green B,
- Red E,
- Red E,
- Orange D.
Benefits of changing to midnight: Despite the midnight feature being a disadvantage for you during real-time daytime play, when playing at night, there’s a significant advantage.
The advantage is that while you’re sailing, gliding, or roaming around the mountains at night, all of the game’s collectables are lit up brightly with green, purple, and other brightly coloured neon lights.
This way, you’ll be able to see collectables from afar and gather them with ease.
Important to note: After you acquire the skill to change the time of day, you can change the time anytime and anywhere. Additionally, you’ll need to wait 30 seconds before you can play the same tune again, but you can change the time of day to any time before the 30-second timer runs down.
