Just like any good survival game, LEGO Fortnite features a lot of animals around the map that can be either unimportant passersby or feral enemies that yield resources when defeated. But can you tame animals in LEGO Fortnite?
Can You Tame Animals in Lego Fortnite?
Yes, you can tame wild animals! While you can’t do it for aggressive mobs such as big wolves, most of the other animals can be easily tamed if you do the correct actions near them. This includes cows, chickens, and sheep, which will all reward you with something after you pet them.
How to Tame Animals in LEGO Fortnite
To tame an animal, approach it slowly and feed it with some food. Drop the food next to the animal (but not too close to avoid startling it) and watch it as it gets near to eat it. The food in question can be things like berries, pumpkins, or corn. The specific type of food doesn’t matter.
Any will do as long as the animal sees it on the ground and there’s enough of it. Drop the food nearby, and they should sniff it out. You’ll notice their interest when a few question marks appear around their head.
How to Lure Animals in LEGO Fortnite
For console players, individually dropping food items to lure animals can be a bit cumbersome:
- Open your Inventory.
- Highlight the food stack.
- Choose “More Actions.”
- Select “Drop.”
- Press right on the D-pad to pick only one item.
- Choose “Drop” again.
Mouse and keyboard users can easily drag and drop items from inventory to the environment for a simpler process.
You can use this method to lure animals to wherever you want. As long as you still have enough food, you can take them to your base and trap them in a small farm, for example. Remember to pet the animal after luring it so it will give you resources like wool or milk.
The problem is that when you close the game and log back it, all animals respawn, including the ones you previously befriended. Any animal you locked behind fences will be gone, so don’t bother trying to make a farm until they change this (if they ever do). Exploration is currently the strongest point of the game, so you might as well focus on that for now.
