Does Persona 3 Reload Include The Classic Soundtrack?

Unfortunately, for fans of the original soundtrack, there is no option to toggle between the remixed versions of your favorite songs and the originals. Thankfully, the sound team at Atlus ensured that all of the remixes were done perfectly, with each building upon their respective original — and in some cases, even surpassing them.

One of the biggest worries I had before booting up Persona 3 Reload was seeing one of my favorite OSTs of all time get messed up in any way, shape, or form. After stepping out of school for the first time and hearing the remixed version of “When the Moon is Reaching Out Stars” play, my doubts were unfounded, and troubles washed away back to a time since passed. While it would have been a nice treat to hear the original version again in this newly enhanced version of Persona 3, I can always revisit other versions or listen to the OST online.

Why Can’t You Swap Between Soundtracks in Persona 3 Reload?

While there is no official explanation, there could be licensing issues that prevented Atlus from re-using the original soundtrack once again. They could have also wanted to completely refresh the game, as they did with the voice cast to make Persona 3 feel like a brand-new game. A new female vocalist lends her voice to these tracks, so it seems apparent that licensing is the likely explanation for this particular release.
