Even the Helldivers have their limits

Helldivers will go anywhere if it means bringing democracy to the most secluded and distant places in the whole galaxy, fighting whichever monstrosity shows up on the way. But will they let a regular Super Citizen join the fight equipped only with a PS4?

Is Helldivers 2 Available on PS4?

Unfortunately, Helldivers 2 is not playable on the PS4. As it stands now, the game can only be played on the PS5 and PCs, meaning it’s also skipping all Xbox consoles and, by consequence, Xbox Game Pass itself too. Democracy will skip you if you don’t own any of the available platforms, and there’s basically zero chance for a later release for older generations.

The PS5 is slowly becoming the standard for most games as it starts making less and less sense to make games for its predecessor. Most users have already done the upgrade, and while many still own the good n’ old machine, there’s little to no incentive to buy one nowadays instead of just getting the more powerful, current-gen counterpart.

While the first Helldivers (which was vastly different) did hit both PS3 and PS4 at the time, it felt more natural considering how smaller the scale for that project was. The successor game is a much more action-heavy title that shines best in more powerful hardware, so despite how much you enjoy your PS4, it might be the time to let it go. Or at least get another console to enjoy those latest releases.

After a rough launch, Helldivers 2 has seen a huge wave of success as the first issues were solved. Players were so eager to hop on it to the point where servers were overloaded and people just couldn’t log in anymore. Things have been more stable by now, despite having some communication problems and some (also addressed) huge armored bug issues on the way.
