Can You Pause Palworld While Playing?

Unfortunately, no matter if you’re playing a single-player world or in multiplayer, there is no way to pause Palworld as of the time of this writing. Since the core of Palworld is set in its online multiplayer function, you’ll need to keep the game running at all times, even if you have to step away from your console or PC.

Testing on both Xbox Series X|S and PC, I found that there is no definitive way to pause the game beyond escaping to the Main Menu. Thankfully, Palworld does load up pretty quickly, so even if you have to leave your Single Player session to do something else quickly, you can get back into the action with ease. In Multiplayer, however, you’ll just need to set the game off to the side and hope that you don’t starve to death or freeze while you’re doing what needs to be done.

To get to the main menu, you’ll need to bring up the Menu with the Options button on your Xbox Controller or ESC on the Keyboard, and then select the “Options” menu on the top bar. After you have done this, you can just select Return To Title to effectively pause your game for a bit of time. While it’s not the most graceful option, it will give you a chance to breathe without worrying about dying or starving.

While you’re exploring the massive lands in Palworld, be sure to keep your eye on our section below. There’s plenty to learn, so find out how to get Paldium Fragments to keep on crafting great items.
