In Modern Warfare’s Season 5, one of the two new weapons introduced is the AN-94 assault rifle. This weapon is a bit unusual compared to Modern Warfare’s other assault rifles, with its unique recoil and firing properties combined with notably different attachment options. So what this does in effect, is provide players a totally different play style variant if they’re fans of the assault rifle to begin with.
Best AN-94 Loadouts in Modern Warfare
There are two loadouts that a lot of Modern Warfare players are recommending, depending on your use case with the AN-94. They even suggest swapping in the middle of the match, if we’re talking about a game of Warzone. The AN-94 is uniquely capable for long range combat based on its attachment options, but there’s a good build for more close-range play as well.

Long Range AN-94 Loadout
- Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel – AN-94 Factory X-438mm
- Underbarrel – Commando Foregrip
- Rear Grip – Granulated Grip Tape
- Optic – G.I. Mini Reflex
The Monolithic Suppressor is a staple in any situation, so that’s not going away anytime soon. Due to the AN-94’s recoil and burst fire mechanic that adds extra shots, the Commando Foregrip and Granulated Grip Tape help you maintain control over the weapon. Finally, the G.I. Mini Reflex helps with the AN-94’s iron sight deficiency.
Close Range AN-94 Loadout
- Muzzle – Monolithic Suppressor
- Barrel – AN-94 Factory 330mm
- Underbarrel – Merc Foregrip
- Stock – Folded Stock
- Optic – G.I. Mini Reflex
As you can see, we’re keeping a few of the parts we used for the other loadout, signifying how important those two are for this weapon. But instead of using the attachment parts to maintain control over this assault rifle, the Merc Foregrip and Folded Stock are better in close range situations (such as inside the Stadium) because they help your immediate speed. The different barrel also gives you a little more range, just in case you need it.
As far as the rest of your setup, we’ve seen the most success with the following Perks and such:
- Perk 1 – EOD
- Perk 2 – Overkill/Ghost
- Perk 3 – Amped
- Equipment – Flash
- Lethal – C4
This is sort of a hybrid blend, that helps you get around and do damage without leaning too hard on one side or the other. After all, you aren’t going to be using an assault rifle if you’re trying to go full stealth. Your secondary weapon is up for whatever you like, due to how versatile the AN-94 can be. You can try complementing based on your loadout, subbing in a MP5 if you’re using the long range build, or using a sniper rifle or launcher if you’re using the close range loadout.
