Call of Duty: Modern Warfare AN-94 Unlock and Attachments Guide

Everything you need to know about Modern Warfare's new assault rifle.

There are two new weapons available for unlocking in Modern Warfare for Season 5. We’ve already covered the first one you get, the ISO SMG. That’s only 15 Tiers into the Battle Pass, which is enough of an early unlock that it’s even included in the premium Battle Pass Bundle.

The second weapon, however, is going to take more time to get to. Unless, of course, you really want to open up your wallet. Here’s what you need to know about getting the AN-94 and what its attachments are.

Unlock and Attachments Guide

The AN-94 AR is described by Infinity Ward as a “cutting edge 5.45x39mm Russian assault rifle.” The key attraction here is the AN-94’s “hyperburst” capability. When you first fire this gun you’ll get a full-auto burst, but then that’s immediately followed up with a second round.

This happens before recoil kicks in, which means you can really focus your volleys and do some damage. Infinity Ward states the AN-94 is equipped with a canted magazine and reciprocating receiver, the bottom line being that this assault rifle comes with some really distinct recoil and shot properties.

In order to unlock the AN-94 AR, you’ll need to spend a bit more time leveling up your Battle Pass compared to the ISO SMG. While the first gun unlocks at Battle Pass Tier 15, the new assault rifle doesn’t come out to play until you hit Battle Pass Tier 31.

Even if you drop the dosh on the Battle Pass Bundle to skip to Tier 20, that’s still another 11 Tiers you have to make up. If you’re feeling squirrely you can pay more to skip ahead in the Tiers, but each Tier roughly equates to $1.50 USD, so that can add up quickly.
