It’s all well and good to be enjoying all the Borderlands 3 DLC that’s been out recently, from casino heists to defeating Old Gods. However, if we’re wanting to deal with threats that are a little closer to home yet still entertainingly lethal, then we have the Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event in April coming up soon. Here’s what we know.

Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels – What We Know

While we still hungry and waiting for the Guns, Love and Tentacles DLC to come out, there were a few updates from Gearbox about what to expect after that particular content drop. In fact, there was a fair amount about the upcoming Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event, which probably feels like a huge thematic 180-degree turn from the Broken Hearts parade which we would consider the last true seasonal offering. If you’re wanting a bit of an update on a bunch of stuff relating to the content roadmap, it’s still hovering about on Gearbox’s website here

However, with the month of April comes new things to look forward to (and not just these SHIFT codes that we’ve been covering for you if you’re hungry for loot). Yes, as we mentioned, we’re probably not far out from the Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels event, and here’s a little bit of a primer. With the level cap just recently raised, we’re going to have a lot of firepower to use against these enemies here, especially when the Mayhem 2.0 mode launches at the same time as Revenge of the Cartels. From what we know, Revenge of the Cartels is going to last for 6 weeks, and it’s about how Maurice has gotten on the wrong side of a part of the galactic mafioso – Joey Ultraviolet.

The point of Revenge of the Cartels will be for you to take on a bunch of targets, not all that different from Zer0’s Targets of Opportunity, we assume, around the galaxy to clear Maurice’s debt. However, the gangsters that you take out will influence content later on in the 6-week cycle when you head to Joey Ultraviolet’s crime mansion. And of course, if you’re not enjoying the fun, you can turn the event off. You can look forward to the following:

  • Enemies in the Mansion being different depending on which gang rules the Cartel
  • Anointed parts and unique loot from enemies of different gang types
  • Cartel-themed Challenges and gear
  • 80s-themed Vault Hunter cosmetics

Now that you’re equipped with about as much knowledge on the upcoming Borderlands 3 Revenge of the Cartels seasonal event as we are, we reckon you’re probably also pretty excited too as the game works its way down its content roadmap that we’ve been tracking for some time now. Who doesn’t love giving Maurice a helping hand? The fact that different gangs will drop different loot means that we’ll be frothing for some content reruns. If you don’t yet own Borderlands 3, you too can pick it up via Amazon using this link here and support Prima Games at the same time. We reckon it’s pretty nifty.
