Borderlands 3 Brainstormer Guide – How to Get This Legendary

If you’re not quite in the loop about why drop rates have increased for specific Legendaries from bosses then we’re going to get you up to speed. In short, if you’ve been cracking through Borderlands 3 and noticed more rare spawns kicking around recently, you have the Farming Frenzy event to thank for that. We have a whole guide about that event which we’ve relinked here for your reference but essentially, why you’ll be wanting to farm weapons like the Brainstormer right now is because enemies with dedicated loot will have improved drop rates for said loot.

The Brainstormer has an increased chance to drop from Katagawa Ball in Skywell-27 and Killavolt in Lectra City, so with the Farming Frenzy event active you’re going to want to gun through both those particular opponents if you’re desperate for this shotgun. Why do we reckon that the Brainstormer is a good pick? This Hyperion shotgun’s special weapon effect is “Let’s put our heads together” – it fires 7 projectiles in a lightning bolt pattern and collision with an enemy can trigger other bolts chaining to nearby hostile targets. The weapon will always spawn as a Shock weapon type as well, so if you’re still missing a powerful one in your arsenal then this could very well be the dream pick-up.

Now that you know how to get your mitts on the Borderlands 3 Brainstormer Legendary shotgun, it should be a total piece of cake with the Farming Frenzy event in full swing for a few more days until it ends on January 30.
