Best Thunder Cage Weapon Build in The First Descendant

Light em up!

The Thunder Cage is one of the most accessible Ultimate weapons to farm in The First Descendant. You get all the crafting materials as early as the second region, Sterile Land, and you might have been lucky to get some materials while going through the campaign. It is a fast-firing submachine gun, which makes it popular for close-range builds and those who want to be fast.

It is a top-tier weapon, and here’s the best Thunder Cage build in The First Descendant you can follow, complete with modules, readjusted stat rolls, and more.

Best Thunder Cage Module Setup in The First Descendant

The Thunder Cage has a fast fire rate for being a submachine gun. Its recoil and magazine capacity are average at best. Since it has a fast fire rate, you can build on that by stacking critical stats on the weapon. Increasing Rounds Per Magazine is also beneficial, even with low round capacity. You want to burst as many bullets as possible and hope you get enough ammo to pick up.

Here are the modules you need:

Fire Rate Concentration or Fire Rate UPConcentration Priority or Commando MarksmanshipConcentrate Support AmmoBetter ConcentrationInsight Focus or Edging Shot
Action and ReactionRifling ReinforcementBetter InsightExpand Weapon ChargeWeak Point Sight

Fire Rate Concentration provides less damage but gives you more efficiency compared to Fire Rate UP because you will burn through your general rounds of ammo in such a short time.

Concentration Priority gives the most damage but slightly lowers your reload speed, making Commando Marksmanship a good alternative.

Rifling Reinforcement, Better Insight, Better Concentration, and Weak Point Sight are all staples to the build. These modules don’t belong to a specific module category, so you can equip them freely.

Edging Shot gives more damage because scaling your Critical Hit Rate is the most important thing when it comes to damage. However, it does sacrifice some Firearm ATK damage. You can also use Insight Focus as an alternative.

Expand Weapon Charge increases your Rounds Per Magazine, which is surprisingly calculated as an increase in DPS. However, you can change this to an Attribute ATK module to get more elemental damage to specific Colossus.

Most of these are normal and rare modules, so you don’t have to farm as many Kuiper Shards to max them out. You’ll need some Crystallization Catalysts, though.

Best Thunder Cage Stats to Roll For in The First Descendant

Your stat priorities for the Thunder Cage are:

  1. Firearm Critical Hit Rate
  2. Firearm Critical Hit Damage
  3. Weak Point Damage >= Rounds Per Magazine >= Bonus Firearm ATK (vs. Colossus)

Since the weapon will practically be overpowered in most content apart from Infiltration Operations and Void Intercept Battles on hard mode, Bonus Firearm ATK vs. Colossus is a great stat for damage.

Getting a Firearm Critical Hit Rate Ultimate roll is your main goal here. It is one of the highest DPS stats you can get on the Thunder Cage, especially with the module setup above.

This Thunder Cage setup is mostly utilized by our Run & Run Tesla Coil Bunny build because of its fast playstyle and CQB nature.
