Best M4 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta

It's back to the basics with the M4.

When you loadout up the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta, one of the first weapons you’ll get your hands on is the M4 assault rifle. Not only is the iconic weapon part of the default classes, but it’s also an initial unlock for the Gunsmith class system in general.

The M4 itself is also the base platform for the entire M4 family of weapons, including the FSS Hurricane. It’s fantastic for beginners and is incredibly versatile in the hand of COD veterans. This guide will go over all of the attachments you need for the best loadout within the Open Beta.

Modern Warfare 2 Open Beta – Best M4 Loadout

There are a few different ways that you can build the M4 because of the versatility that the weapon offers. However, that also limits its full capacity as a specialist weapon. That means we want to focus on long to mid-range fights with this loadout rather than something aggressive and up close. Below you can find all of the appropriate attachments for this Modern Warfare 2 Loadout.

  • Muzzle: FORGE-TAC Castle Comp
  • Barrel: Tempus Hightower 20″ Barrel
  • Underbarrel: VX Pineapple Vert Grip
  • Optic: Cronen Mini Red Dot or Personal Choice
  • Stock: Demo Precision Elite Factory

Essentially every attachment in this M4 loadout is geared towards range and control within the Multiplayer Open Beta. To kick that off, we want the FORGE-TAC Castle Comp and the Tempus Hightower 20″ Barrel. Both of these attachments are going to provide a massive boost to range, recoil control, and bullet velocity on the weapon. There’s even some hip-fire accuracy thrown in. But these will come at the cost of speed.

Moving on to the supporting attachments, the VX Pineapple Vert Grip and the Demo Precision Elite Factory stock are fantastic options for additional long-range support. The Vert Grip has massive control potential and the Elite Factory allows for greater stability at a distance. An optic is all that’s left for this build, and though we have the Cronen Mini listed, it’s really a subjective choice.

Keep your distance with this M4 loadout and pick off enemies before they have a chance to react. You’ll find yourself going back to the basics in large-scale modes or in 6v6 Multiplayer.
