Starfire Protocol might be one of the most used Exotics for Warlocks in Destiny 2 right now, but Phoenix Protocol absolutely has its place. Particularly if you are a team player who loves to rain down orbs on your teammates while providing an endless stream of Wells for everyone.

But how do you use it most efficiently?

First, it is good to know precisely what Phoenix Protocol does. Battle-Hearth is a perk that ensures kills and assists you make while standing in your Well of Radiance returns Super Energy.

One kill = 10% Super Energy, but each kill after grants 1.5% less than the previous kill, with a bottom floor of 4% Super Energy. So, you will need to do a lot of ADD busting if you want to get your Super back up in time for the next round. And grenades are the best way to do that.

Let us look at the best class aspects and fragments first.

• Solar Aspects: Touch of Flame. Firebolt Grenade: Increases target search radius and maximum target count.
• Melee: Celestial Fire. Send out a spiral of three explosive Solar energy blasts, scorching targets with each hit.
• Grenade: Firebolt. A grenade that unleashes bolts of damaging Solar Light at nearby targets and slightly scorches them.
• Fragments:
  • Ember of Ashes. You apply more scorch stacks to targets.
  • Ember of Mercy. When you revive an ally, you and other nearby allies gain restoration. Picking up a Firesprite grants restoration. +10 Resilience.
  • Ember of Char. Your Solar ignitions spread scorch to affected targets. +10 Discipline.
  • Ember of Combustion. Final blows with a Solar Super causes targets to ignite and creates a Firesprite. +10 Strength.

For mods, it is a good idea to select those that will further accelerate your grenade and super regeneration. Here is how it breaks down.

• Helmet
  • Solar Siphon: Rapid Solar weapon final blows create an orb of power.
  • Heavy Ammo Finder: Increases the drop chance of Heavy ammo on kill.
  • Ashes to Assets: Gain bonus Super energy on Grenade kills.
• Gauntlets
  • Grenade Kickstart: When your grenade energy is fully expended, you gain grenade energy. Additionally, your Armor Charge is consumed and you gain additional grenade energy for each stack.
  • Firepower: Your grenade final blows create orbs of power.
  • Impact Induction: Causing damage with a melee attack reduces your grenade cooldown.
