Every year in COD there are submachine guns that run the meta, SMGs that fall flat, and then there are pub stompers like the AMR9 in Modern Warfare 3. This SMG has tons of versatility that can even take down the Striker in public matches if you have the right loadout to follow. Here’s the best AMR9 loadout and class build in Modern Warfare 3.

Here is the best loadout for the AMR9 in Modern Warfare 3:

  • Barrel: AMR9 Commando Pro Barrel
  • Underbarrel: XTEN TX-12 Handstop
  • Rear Grip: Sakin ZX Grip
  • Optic: MK. 23 Reflector
  • Ammunition (Optional): 9mm High Grain

By default, the AMR9 has a slow ADS speed and low mobility. After using the Stirker or the Rival, I could immediately feel the weight of the SMG and see that it needed improvement. The XTEN TX-12 Handstop and the Commando Pro Barrel are your main sources of speed for this build, which should be more than enough.

To help counter some of the kick that comes with ADS attachments, I added the Sakin ZX Grip. This adds more control to the gun without hurting mobility at all. Then, I use the MK. 23 Reflector because the iron sights feel far too crowded at any range. The High Grain ammo is a bonus that can benefit nearly any loadout, but you need to be prepared for some extra kick.

Best Class and Perks for the AMR9 in MW3

Here are the best perks and equipment for the AMR9 in Modern Warfare 3:

  • Vest: Infantry Vest or Engineer
  • Field Equipment: Trophy System
  • Gloves: Quick Grip Gloves
  • Boots: Covert Sneakers
  • Gear: Ghost T/V Camo or EOD Padding
  • Tactical: Flash Grenade
  • Lethal: Frag Grenade or Semtex
  • Sidearm: Renetti (Aftermarket Parts Conversion)

Your perks are the most important part of any class, and for the AMR9, you want to stick with options that encourage mobility. Covert Sneakers will eliminate all footstep sounds, while Ghost keeps you off the radar as long as you move. EOD is an excellent second option for modes like Search and Destroy.

For your secondary, I recommend using the Renetti with a conversion for an even better close-quarters option. However, the WSP Stinger is a great alternative with tons of mobility that I tend to make use of in slower modes as well. But overall, none of the other sidearms in the game compare to the Renetti with Aftermarket Parts equipped.
