Where is Lord Gortash in Baldur’s Gate 3

Lord Gortash can be found at the top of Wyrm’s Rock Fortress, above the main throne room where the coronation occurs. Once you’ve decided that you want to take down Gortash, you must get through multiple obstacles and plenty of enemies that want to stop you. Before Gortash catches on to your schemes, he can be found just above the throne room.

After he knows you are a threat, you need to climb up the entire fortress and kill any of the Flaming Fist guards along the way. The first floor contains the main barracks, the second floor has the throne room filled with Bane cultists, and the final floor is where Gortash will be waiting with his most elite guards.

Once you clear the throne room, reaching the third floor of Wyrm’s Rock Fortress can be confusing. I went to the south side of the ramparts and then stacked some boxes. These allowed me to jump onto the scaffolding and take the ladder up to the top floor of the fortress.

Tip:

Find the relevant scaffolding on the left side at the south Wyrm’s Crossing. Vines are attached, guiding you to the rooftops. To reach it, jump down beneath the bridge.

On the third-floor ramparts, there are a few traps, and you will need to open up the main doors to reach Lord Gortash inside.

How to Beat Lord Gortash in Baldur’s Gate 3 (BG3)

To defeat Lord Gortash, I recommend disabling the Steel Watch so he has far less protection, then focus your attacks on Gortash himself. He has Iron Consul and Black Gauntlet guards that worship Bane on his side, but they aren’t too dangerous. You can deal with them individually after the Steel Watch and Gortash have been dealt with.

Watch for the fire breath attacks on the walls as you move your party around the room. These will pop up every turn and can dish out some serious damage if they aren’t disabled. The rest of the fight is easy compared to Ketheric and Orin. This time around, Bane doesn’t take a hold of Gortash, and he’s on his own.

If you went to Gortash before his counterpart, read through my guide on how to beat Orin in Baldur’s Gate 3.
