Leave no tiefling behind

The Tieflings have the worst luck, don’t they? And now Zevlor, one of the first friendly faces we met in the Druid’s Grove, has gone missing. And getting him back is no easy task. Here’s how to find Zevlor in Moonrise Tower in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Find Zevlor in Moonrise Tower (BG3)

You learn about Zevlor going missing long before you can gain access to him. That’s because, to get him, you’ll have to progress through Moonrise Tower completely, then gain access to a whole new area.

If you don’t mind spoilers, here’s precisely how to find Zevlor in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Once you’ve defeated Ketheric Throm for the first time on the roof of Moonrise Tower, you’ll be prompted to follow him into a fleshy hole. Jump in, and you’ll find yourself in the pit where tadpoles come from. There’s probably some symbolism happening here.

This area has its fair share of secrets, and it’s here that Zevlor is being held. To find him, head to the Tadpoling Room.

It’s here that you’ll find two walls lined with Mindflayer Pods. There’s a control panel at the far end of the room on the right side which will give you the options to 1—release or 2. Purge the contents of these pods.

If you release the pods, you’ll release Zevlor and two other non-infected allies. But you’ll also release three Mindflayers and aggro the Intellect Devourers that are wandering around the place. Once you open the pods, prioritize keeping Zevlor (and the others too, I guess) alive. While the Mindflayers are the biggest threats, don’t underestimate the brains, either.

Once they’re dead, Zevlor will send you ahead to kill Ketheric Throm.

Speaking of which, Do not kill Throm first, then try to backtrack. The pods will be empty, and you won’t be able to finish the quest. I learned this the hard way, and yes, I had to find Throm twice.

While you’re preparing for that big boss fight, it’s a good idea to grab the sword behind the Necrotic Lab puzzle door.
