You’ve got the blueprints, you’ve got the faded instructions. And now that you’re in the Underdark, you’ve triggered a brand new step – get some Sussur bark. But… how? Here’s how to find and get Sussur Bark in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Find Sussur Tree Bark in (BG3)

As you’ve stumbled through the Underdark, you’ve likely found yourself in the presence of a grand tree with bright blue leaves. A quest notification will then pop up, telling you to harvest the bark from the Sussur Tree. And… that’s all well and good, but how do you do it?

If you’re like me, the first thing you did (after getting jumped by a series of bird monsters that roost in the tree), is try to take an axe to the tree. But that won’t work. Instead, you’ll need to climb up the branch and head towards the tree’s trunk.

Once you do so, you’ll find that there’s one piece of bark that you can interact with on the Sussur Tree. Spam ‘alt’ if you’re having trouble finding it.

Now that you have the bark of the Sussur Tree, you’re fully equipped to make a masterwork weapon. Just take that Sussur Tree Bark back to the Blighted Village. There, you’ll find a building that’s locked behind a Shabby Wooden Door at the coordinates X:42, Y:408. Once you’re inside, you’ll find a Melting Furnace.

Throw the Sussur Tree Bark in its crafting menu, then choose a dagger, greatsword, or sickle to add to the mix. A plain dagger and greatsword can be found in the very same room as the furnace, though you’ll have to find a sickle yourself.

Then start up the furnace and you’ll get a Sussur Dagger, Sussur Sickle, or Sussur Greatsword, depending on what you chose!

If you’ve made it to the Underdark, you’re probably pretty close to the Arcane Tower! But getting inside is no easy. Fortunately, there’s a method that can make it a breeze.
