You’ll find Benryn’s dowry in a chest hiding inside a haystack in the barn at coordinates (X: -99, Y: 617). Interacting with the haystack triggers a Perception Check that, if successful, reveals a Gilded Chest containing the dowry.

Since there’s a chance to fail this Perception Check, you can create a new save before visiting the barn and reload if your search is unsuccessful.

After discovering Miri’s body with Benryn, head downstairs and travel west to find the barn and the haystack. You’ll spot it beside the entrance, and hovering over it reveals a ‘use’ interaction. A successful Perception Check will cause the chest to appear on the floor next to it, allowing you to open it and grab the dowry.

Returning the Dowry to Benryn

Once you grab the dowry and any other loot in the chest, you have three options:

  • Return to Benryn and give back the dowry
  • Return to Benryn and keep the dowry
  • Sell the dowry right away

It is entirely up to you which option you pick. Regardless of your choice, you won’t receive any additional benefits or debuffs that reflect your actions. However, Benryn will be grateful if you return it and furious if you keep it.
