Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Auto Sort Inventory (BG3)

Cleaning up your pouch is easier than you think.

As you progress through your adventure in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’re going to amass a lot of different items. From a few simple skulls here and there to weapons that are more powerful than anything you could have ever imagined, your inventory can become an overwhelming mess in just a matter of minutes. I was left scratching my head, trying to figure out how I could automatically sort everything in my inventory because it was driving me mad. Then, it finally hit me and the answer couldn’t have been any simpler.

Where Is The Auto Sort Button In Baldur’s Gate 3?

When you enter the Character Sheet, you’re able to see what every character in your party is currently carrying. This is great if you’re like me and hardly swap away from your main character, as they’ll be holding the primary load. You can evenly distribute your items to those that can use them more, and even give Gale a few magic items to snack on while you’re here.

However, if your inventory is an absolute mess, you’ll want to navigate to the top-left corner, where a Ye Olde Hamburger Menu awaits you. Clicking on this will bring up a set of options, allowing you to change and customize your inventory exactly as you would see fit. Here are all of the options available for sorting:

  • Latest
  • Value
  • Weight
  • Type

Myself, I always like to keep things organized by their use, so I normally will pick Type. However, I have a lot of magical artifacts on my person at the moment, so I’m thinking of seeing what’ll catch the highest price overall to get some extra coins in my pocket.
