So, you’re wanting to get your mitts on an Arrokuda in Pokemon Sword and Shield. When we were covering our competitive picks way back when, we were adamant that players would want a Barraskewda on their teams to be viable. While we’ve not entirely kept up with the scene since, those critters still look pretty badass. Check out our Arrokuda Pokemon Sword and Shield location guide if you’re not sure where to get your hands on this particular fish.

Arrokuda Pokemon Sword and Shield Location Guide

As you would likely have already ascertained, Arrokuda are the precursor to the mighty Barraskewda. If the names didn’t already tip you off, these fishes are real sharp to the touch and we mean that literally. You’d get skewered if you pointed the wrong end of one towards yourself after a rad Galarian night out on the booze and the curries.

The good thing about Arrokuda is that if you want to acquire one, well, all you need is legs to haul butt over to wherever they may be in the overworld. Arrokudas aren’t a version exclusive, so regardless of whether you own Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield, adding one to your team is as easy as, well, finding one.

Luckily, these Pokemon are fairly plentiful. They have certain weather preferences, being more likely to show up in Sandstorms or Thunderstorms, but they can appear during any one of the following weather conditions: Overcast, Normal Weather, Raining, Thunderstorm, Intense Sun, Snowing, Snowstorm, Sandstorm, and Heavy Fog. As for their specific location, we would recommend checking out the Motostoke Riverbank and also Route 2. Your chances of nabbing one of these prickly little things is greatly increased when you’re Surfing (which is unsurprising since, well, they’re fish) so just keep that in mind when you’re trekking around.

Now that you’ve got our Arrokuda Pokemon Sword and Shield location guide to refer to, it should be pretty easy to get one of your own if you’re observing the right weather conditions and getting your feet wet.
